Attorney Abilheira has dedicated much of her career to helping individuals clear their criminal record. Most notably, in 2013, Attorney Abilheira argued a landmark case before the Rhode Island Supreme Court, State v. Doris Poulin. The Poulin decision set a precedent, giving individuals the opportunity to seal a criminal case, even if they had previously pled nolo contendere to a felony and received a probation sentence.
